Safari Pop-up Blocker

Safari comes with a built-in Pop-up Blocker. This can be

useful when you visit sites that use pop-ups to display ads.

But other sites use pop-ups to give you more information on

items or to request login information. At TCU some

PeopleSoft reports and query windows behave like pop-ups.

You will need to turn Pop-up Blocker off to run them.

• To turn the Pop-up Blocker on or off, from the Safari

menu, choose Block Pop-up Windows.

Safari Bookmarks

The following bookmarks have been added to the Bookmarks Bar.

TCU – www.tcu.edu

MyTCU – my.tcu.edu

Password Reset – mypw.tcu.edu

Phonebook – www.sbcyponline.com/list.htm -- SBC Yellow and White

pages

Automatic Updates

Your Macintosh has been configured to check for

OS and security updates weekly. You may notice

an update dialog box.

In the rare occurrence that you do not want to

install the update, uncheck the check box.

If you want to check for updates before the

scheduled check, from the Apple menu, select

Software Update.

Go to System Preference, Software Update to customize.

Norton Antivirus and Microsoft Office updates also occur on a weekly basis.

Remote Desktop

Remote Desktop allows TCU User Services to

access your computer with your permission in

order to take control to help you troubleshoot

problems. You will see this Control Request

message when activated. Press Allow or Deny.
