7 In the Still Images & Objects section, set the Create Objects At preference to “Start of

project.”

Newly created or imported objects now begin at the start of the project.

8 Click the close button to close the Preferences window.

9 Save the project (press Command+S).

Basic Object Manipulation

You can modify many aspects of an object by manipulating it directly in the Canvas.

You can use basic controls such as scale, rotation, and position, or more complex

operations such as controlling an object’s drop shadow. This section provides a brief

discussion of transforming objects using the onscreen controls.

To modify an object in the Canvas:

1 Click the National Geographic logo in the Canvas (it may already be selected).

2 Drag the object to position it in the lower-right corner of the Canvas.
