Installing WebObjects 19

To install Developer Tools, follow these steps:

1 Start up your computer in Mac OS X Server and log in as the Administrator (“root”).

2 Insert the Developer CD into your computer’s CD-ROM drive.

3 If necessary, double-click the CD icon to open its main window.

4 Double-click the Mac_OS_X_Server folder.

5 If you have a WebObjects Developer CD, double-click the WebObjectsDeveloper.mpkg ﬁle.

If you have a Mac OS X Server Developer CD, double-click the

MacOSXServerDeveloper.mpkg ﬁle.

6 In the Package Selection dialog box, click Install.

For each package, the Installer checks for existing ﬁles on your disk and then installs the

necessary package ﬁles.

Note: If you want to exclude a component, deselect it before clicking Install. To develop

WebObjects applications, you must install, at least, these packages: Developer Tools,

Developer Libraries, WebObjects Deployment, and WebObjects Developer.

7 If the Installer asks for your serial number, enter it in the text ﬁeld and click OK.

The product serial number is on the CD envelope, in the format “A-999-AAA-999-AAA-999-

AAA-999-AAA-999”.
